A plain-language explanation of what this website does with information you choose to share.
You do not need an account to read Walterboro Shines. The website does not ask you to create a profile or provide personal information just to browse. Site search runs in your browser and is not sent to Walterboro Shines.
The Submit to the Shine form is powered by Jotform. When you choose to submit the form, the information you enter is sent through Jotform to Walterboro Shines for review. A submission may include your name, email address, phone number, event, story, business or resource details, links, dates, locations and any photo or flyer you choose to upload.
Information you send may be used to verify a tip, respond to you, or prepare community information for publication. Details clearly submitted for public posting, such as an event date, business information or community resource, may be published. Personal contact information is not sold.
Jotform processes and stores form submissions on behalf of Walterboro Shines, and submission activity may generate notification or confirmation emails. Walterboro Shines uses those submissions only for operating the site, reviewing community information, responding to inquiries and related administrative purposes.
Walterboro Shines is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process ordinary technical and traffic information such as IP address, browser or device information, request time, security signals and page-request data to operate, secure and measure the website. Walterboro Shines may use Cloudflare analytics to understand aggregate website traffic. Walterboro Shines does not currently use Meta Pixel or Google Analytics on this build.
Paid advertising checkout is processed by PayPal. PayPal handles payment credentials under its own privacy and security practices. Walterboro Shines does not receive or store your full payment-card number or bank-account credentials. Walterboro Shines receives transaction details needed to confirm a purchase, such as the PayPal order/capture status, transaction identifier, purchased advertising product and payer information PayPal makes available to the merchant.
Walterboro Shines may use first-party source codes in links and QR codes to understand which outreach location sent a visitor to a page. The hidden Unlock 95 pilot page can ask a visitor for browser location permission only after the visitor chooses to use the location feature. In this V39 build, that distance calculation happens in the visitor’s browser and the precise location is not sent to Walterboro Shines by the page itself. If advertising pixels or additional analytics tools are added later, this notice will be updated.
Walterboro Shines links to outside services and organizations, including Facebook, the Shop the Shine Printful store and official community resources. Those websites have their own privacy practices. Leaving Walterboro Shines means their policies apply.
Please avoid sending private or sensitive information that is not needed for a community submission. Questions about this notice, or requests concerning information you previously sent, can be emailed to walterboroshines@icloud.com.
